THE TURNING POINT is an amazing and fascinating review of our wasteful and dead Newtonian, Cartesian, paternalistic, reductive society and makes a great case that we are on the cutting edge of a New Paradigm, of The Gaia, Mother Earth Syndrome, feminisim and quantum mechanics. I have done a play in NYC called THE LEFTOVER BROTHER where I dramatize the whole premise of The Turning Point along with the DVD on quantum mechanics, the physics of possibilites, (where the world is not already solid, a "thing" until we look at it, and we can make up our own realities, and can become the Avatar /Self we were meant to be) What The Bleeb Do We Know? Another book along this line is Taking The Quantum Leap, by Fred Alan Wolf,and Fire In The Belly, by Sam Keene. Turning Point is very well written by a very literate physicist Fritjof Capra who also wrote the fasinating The Tao of Physics which can be read in tandem with Ken Wilber's - Quantum Questions.
The Turning Point is a must read for those who want to be enlightened and will join with the millions of intelligent, spiritual men and women, who want to see a blazing light at the end of the tunnel of the 21st CENTURY that is not a destructive mechanistic Newtonian train coming in the other direction.(This book has been made into a DVD film)

Still relevant and thought-provoking!
Fritjof Capra combines the ideas of spirituality and combines the ideas of the physical universe into ideas that are of living and breathing existence.
Well written and very challenging book. The author builds superbly a chain of arguments and invites us to evaluate our own "mental software" and the very few paradigms that constrain it. If you like philosophy, this book probably will open new horizons for investigation. After reading it, maybe could be a nice idea try watching an old movie (Mind Walk, Liv Ulman) inspired by the same theme.
I read this book in my junior college year for a class in international studies and it change my perspective how to view the world and my need to understand the how my perspectives influence my existence and my world ideologies. I purchased this book just recently and I am happy to have it again and enjoy reading it and get back to Capra's perspectives.
When reading this book, it feels like I'm reading it in today's time! I am so happy that my professor had this book to read. Warning, it is very dense, yet very informative
A must read. It was hard to get through some parts but crazy how this was written in the early 80's and we are still rigid to change for a better world system.
